The role of a Health and Safety Officer is to prevent work-related illnesses, accidents or injuries.
How do they achieve their goal? They create policies and procedures in accordance with the legislation and make sure these policies are followed by the employees. They also run regular inspections and investigate every accident that could happen to avoid a repetition.
They also have to distribute training such as Fire Awareness.
This job requires organisational and interpersonal skills, but also to be proactive and independant.
